I'm looking to preorder commencal meta 29. Being a 6.2 (190cm) I always had XL frames. Currently, I'm riding on my YT Capra 27.5 XL (2018 ). Looking into meta's geometry, the reach in L framesize is 495. Capra has reach of 480 in XL frame. Honestly, I feel pretty much comfortable on my capra.
Last week I was in the bike park, and saw a guy who tall as me, and he had meta 29 XL with reach of 520. Tried that bike a bit, it was ok, but felt a bit like a ship, that machine is huge!
I used 99spokes for comparison between capra XL and Meta L:
The geometry between capra XL and Meta L is noticeable on the paper. it's longer almost in every aspect (except top tube length). I should fit in L without any issues, since it's bigger and longer. But wanted to ask someone with my height about their experience since I'm bit stuck in between meta's L and XL frames...
183 cm (6.0 ft) tall, with longer torso/arms and riding a Large Meta AM. For the first time in my life I don't feel like im riding while hanging over my bars. I feel comfortable.

Don't Confuse Reach with Top Tube length or cockpit size. Newer bikes are usually slacker with a steeper seat tube allowing longer reach while keeping the cockpit the same size

I would go with Large. If you put a stem that is 10mm longer than what you have on the Capra the seated position (top tube) will feel nearly the same if you feel the stock one isn’t roomy enough.

I'm 6'1" and ran into the same issue when buying my SC Hightower. The XL felt like a boat, where the Large had the same wheelbase and reach as my XL Stumpjumber, although a shorter top tube.. I went with the large and swapped the 40mm stem out for a 50 mm stem and could not be happier. I'm sure the XL would have been great for bombing down straight lines, but not what I was looking for.
I'm 6'2 and went with a size Large on my Meta Power 29 and it's perfect. Plenty of room when you're ripping and perfect size when you're climbing. I rode an XL and it was MASSIVE. It was way too big. I find Commencal's size guides to be spot on. I would not suggest the XL. I was able to pedal around on the regular Large Meta 29, which is slightly bigger than the Meta Power 29, and it was fantastic. Large all day.
