Hi. Any idea if it's possible to convert a 2016 Trek Slash 8's (27.5, small) rear shock to coil? I'm going to pair the frame with a Mazocchi Z1 coil with 170mm travel up front. Current shock is a Fox Factory DPX2. Would going coil be an improvement?

I'm on the heavy side (currently 210-213lbs). I just love the performance of a coil suspension fork as I have a Fox Van 36 160mm on my 2013 Remedy 7, and always wanted to convert its CTD shock to coil before; now I'm considering going coil shock for the 2016 Slash 8 (27.5).

Also looking to fitting a Works Components 1-degree angleset to slacken the geo to 64-degrees and a Canfield 150mm crankset to compensate for the lower BB height.

If you're happy with the damping from the Lyrik you could put a Smashpot into it for quite a bit less money, you can also control the bottom out resistance with it.
