"So I need a replacement steer. I have gone with just getting a new CSU because getting someone to replace my current one will be a nightmare."

If you switch CSU with a different lower you may need to resize the bushings to suite the
stanchions, or if its a little sloppy change the bushings in the lower depending.

I just got my CSU and it doesn't have % of travel markings on it. Weird? Has anyone else seen this on a Zeb?

Just as a wrap up the guy in New Mexico installed a new steering tube. Installed the fork on the bike and rode it. Had to rebuild the shock that was "like new" from sunshine cycles.

The fork has lots of new internals and works fine. Should have just bought a new one instead the junk ones in the classifieds.

Just saying

Generally if your going to invest in having a new steerer fitted,
it pays to assertain before hand if the fork warrants the investment.

Seems you went reverse in your aproach and its got costly,
live and learn.

Whats the fork ?

Experienced the same problem - cut a tube way too short right before a big trip to interior BC.

For anyone in the Greater Vancouver area, found a place called Shore Suspension.

Reasonably priced, but main upside is the quick turnaround time.
The guy was able to get it done same day.
