Can I cut 3.5 mm of both ends of a rear chris king thru axle hub to make it 135qr w the adaptors?

Title pretty much says it. It's at a shop now to be cut. They didn't sell and I couldn't find 135 axles or a set of 100/135 650b27.5 wheels that were nice. If I don't see replies and I'm making terrible mistake please text 720 666 0055

If you cut down the axle, will the brake rotor placement now be 3.5mm out? It will be 3.5mm too close to the frame so you wont even be able to correct it with spacers. I could be wrong......

That's what I was concerned w. But it lined up. It's done and works like it's supposed to. Why they call silly 142 non boost is beyond me I guess. $40 at Machine shop is way cheaper than finding ridiculous overpriced king parts that may not exist or be available for the mtn hubs

I have a 135mm Chris king iso through axle that I’d love to swap for a 142mm axle. Axle is unused, I had it in case I wanted to swap a wheel onto my demo, and never actually used it. Pm me if you are interested in a swap.
