Hey Pinkers! I currently have a Lyrik Ultimate and I’m just not happy with the small bump and midstroke performance. I have pretty much decided to go coil. Would you think a Marzocchi Z1 coil or a smashpot conversion on the Lyrik would be a better idea for a 2021 Specialized Enduro?
I would keep the fork and convert it with a PUSH ACS or Vorsprung Smashpot. ACS is easier and less messy to change out a coil, and prob faster to change travel.
Smashpot has hydraulic bottom-out to prevent it but also absorb energy vs. ACS which uses air but that has added rebound effect. Prob not a noticeable difference to most riders.
You'll need to pay to change travel with ACS but Smashpot comes with spacers for a variety of travel options.
Marzo Z1 is nice but you might be able to score a used clean one with a GRIP 2 damper swapped in for less than $700 which would be a heavy but strong af fork. Limited coil spring options compared to PUSH & Vorsprung
