I am going on a business trip to London and Stuttgart in late May or June and want to work in some mtb.
Pre-Covid, I did 2 days in Finale traveling from Stuttgart. A bit of a journey, but worth it. Could just do that again. But I would like to try something new. I'm thinking Wales or Scotland (Aberdeensire) would be easily accessible from London, but is the weather too unpredictable? I think the Alps is too far for a weekend and might not be open yet. Andalusia too hot? Maybe Andorra, but 2.5 hour transfer from Barcelona. Traveling solo - would hire a guide and bike wherever I go.
Tweed Valley in Scotland is convenient as not too far away from Edinburgh or Glasgow airports (or train stations). Plenty of trails and places to hire a bike and guides.
I'd suggest going North to know the "Real Scotland" (past Perth), but that's gonna take some extra time just to get here!!
