Recommendations for creating a larger route system

I am going to undertake mapping the San Francisco Bay Area "Bay Area Ridge Trail" system in Trailforks. It is a 400+ mile (unfinished) network of trails that circumnavigate the entire Bay Area. It crosses through multiple parks, open spaces, and other lands, public and private.

Is there a "best way" to present this information on Trailforks?

Looking at the Colorado Trail, it appears to be one long route. Although it clearly illustrates the scale of the trail, it also seems that it would be very difficult to use as a navigation guide since it would be difficult to drill down and see the trail in specific segments.

The Bay Area Ridge Trail exists as smaller segments. It is being created and maps are being made as the areas and trails become available. To that end, there are still gaps in the overall route.

I imagine that it would make sense on Trailforks to make each segment of the Ridge Trail (shown on the website) its own route on Trailforks. This would make it easy to pull relevant segments at will. The only issue this raises is that the overall Ridge Trail route is not represented anywhere.

It seems to me that larger projects like this one (or others like the Great Divide trail, the Colorado Trail, the John Muir trail, or the Appalachian Trail) should have their own page where users can access the overall route information, but also view individual segments of the overall route.

Has there been any discussion in this direction? Is there a "best practice" for implementing something like this?

Larger trails like this DO have their own page

So it should be mapped as individual trails, then those trails added to an "Official Trail List". And a route of the entire thing can also be created and linked to the Official Trail List page.

If you create a "List" send me a PM and I will mark it as official.
