I am about to get a new bike (santacruz bronson) and I am trying to find out weather or not I should run fox or rockshox on my next bike, I have almost always rode fox but recently I have been a bit upset with the reliability of there shocks. I am currently stuck in the middle and don't know which brand to go with. I appreciate any and all replies

ive had 3 36's knock from new this year ive waited for the new rockshox stuff and now i have 2 forks on their way.
The old SDU was awesome so id assume the new one is even better.
If fox have let you down go Rock shox or try another brand completely.
I tend to make sure theres a good access to service parts of my chosen brand, nothing worse than a brand and you cant get spares or bike shop have no dealing with etc
Imo, all high end fox products are tuned for racing right out of the box. I have ended up running the forks with compression wide open because I am not racing. My last fox fork was a 2019 fox 36 performance . It took weeks to get the tune close and it still left me with real “hand pump”. Ended up lowering the fluid weight in the damper just to get a lower compression damping…… I am 220 lbs fully kitted and I still needed to reduce the compression damping with an oil change. I ride a Zeb now, took one ride to tune and the fork is tuned for daily riding. Again, JMO.
