I was looking to upgrade my little bros fork but he has a straight steerer tube. Do any of you know if anyone makes a straight steerer, 27.5, air fork anymore? Or any ideas? He has a 2019 Specialized Rockhopper.
Thanks!

They do, although I’d say if your brother wants to keep riding and needs a better fork, the rockhopper is not the bike to upgrade. I always tell customers who buy them that because it has quick release skewers you will, as you progress, quickly learn the downsides of them. The wheels will start coming loose as you ride harder and it becomes a safety hazard. I’d highly recommend not upgrading the rockhopper and just invent in a new bike once he needs it. You can find some used hard tails that have great components for under 1500 and selling the rockhopper will also give you some money for that.

So, he’s still a beginner and he is just starting to get out of green/blue trails and I feel bad taking home down some of the trails I like to ride. This for would just be a temporary upgrade until he gets a new bike next year, when he can afford it. What companies make the forks?

There are 27.5", straight steerer, non-thru-axle forks currently available from RockShox, Manitou, and SR Suntour.

If you can't find a QR version it's also easy to convert from thru axle to QR with something like this;

That product lets you put a thru-axle hub in a QR fork. If anything, OP would be trying to put a QR hub in a thru-axle fork (which is not possible, unless the hub is convertible to thru-axle by swappable end caps).
