where do you live? Irishdh.com is the main Irish DH site so would be the place to get info.

Dublin 18 has ya very close to 3rock and a shed load of trails there... so no worries. the lads to contact there are epicdh.com but the site is down at the moment. they have club races in cloon every Tuesday over the summer night rides during the winter etc. they will sort ya out...

also there is a new track being built in Kerry.....

http://www.kerryman.ie/news/mountain-bike-boost-with-euro-450k-sports-grant-2838185.html

Full details here.Est 6min 20sec run

heres some information regarding the shronaboy trails

You can see the uplift access road here, the track starts at the end of it and heads NNW towards the dwellings:
http://maps.google.ie/maps?q=shronaboy, ... 6&t=h&z=16

There is a lot of information in the planning documents: maps, indicative trail design, uplift method, projected charges and facilities. There is a course description which reads like a race preview and sounds savage. The Killarney Park Hotel wrote a letter to the council supporting the application so we'll have to support them at some point.

and search for planning ID '10900'

according to the planning consent they will be using an existing dirt road for uplifts.
the business plan states that use of the trail will be free.
uplifts are expected to be €3.50 a pop with day tickets and weekend tickets (€40) available.
season tickets will be €250 and there is mention of an early bird discount to get things going.
the planning consent includes drawings and interesting information about different trails locally and in the UK.

the incremental cost of adding more dh trails and the owner operated xc trail will be relatively small but still significant once the grant aided infrastructure and initial dh trail is in place.
