My buddy rides the Fox 40's and their incredible. They have so many adjustments so u can tune it to ur style of riding

i have an 06' 40 rc2. the spring is making a clicking sound in the left stanction sometimes when depressed. apparently this is a wide-spread problem amoung the 40's and can be fixed by flipping the spring over. anyone else have this problem? other than his little annoying click, the fork is sick. havent riden the 07 888 but i would go with the 40. like a million of the hardest hitting pro's cant be wrong right?

the RC2X and the RC2 are both the highest end models, but im saying the marzo because im a fan, lol, and they are a year older and are probably developed better

I had that problem, and so did my brother. Some shrink wrap should to the trick quite well. Mine hasnt made a noise all season since that, and niether has my brother. I havent ridden the 888 before, so I cant really compare, but the 40 is amazing. It can be tuned so well that it feels like it was made for you.

As for the 40 being a weak fork, Mine and my brothers are holding up fine. If you abuse them and dont look after them, they will break, but that is the same with any other component on the market.

fox 40's are high maintenance, and are weaker than 888. havent ridden 40's but 888's feeel absolutly great. plus they're are more versatile. id go for the 888's

i dont see how you could say the 888 is more versitle. thats probably bullshi**. any fork needs to be well maintained and tuned to the riders size and style. just get whatever you want cause everyone on here just has opinions that dont matter. i dont like marz because of my personal experiances with them and the way they ride.

i haven't ridden 40's but i've heard they require alot of maintenance and have to be serviced often... just my 2 cents

Dedicated dH? 40's. Versatile fork? 888. I love my 40, but I don't think I'd want to freeride on it too much.
