Hey! I have a tough decision to make: for $5000 I am between buying used (both 2019 comp turbo levo versions) a turbo levo with an alloy frame 700wh battery or a carbon frame 500wh battery. Both in excellent condition. I know that I would be getting a better deal with the carbon frame (bigger price difference from retail to $5000) but I am not sure which I should get as I had read that the 700wh batteries are much better in the long run. Any advice? Thanks!

If I were you, I would go with the Carbon frame with a Range extender. I believe 500 watt may be problem for long rides, for that reason a range extender is a must for certain conditions.

I prefer alloy frames and the 700 would be the choice every time.

I wouldn't be putting any more money towards the bike after the purchase, so I would just have the 500wh battery for the bike. Would you still believe that the 500wh isn't good enough and just to go with the alloy in that case?

go with the 700 for sure. me and my buddies all have 700's except for one who has a 500 and his dies significantly faster than ours.

It does indeed. I have a 500 & a 700 for big days out.
The 700 is 40% bigger than the 500, but seems to last significantly longer than the figures suggest in comparison.
I would never only have a single 500. I can rinse that in 90 mins at the bikepark doing non stop laps.

so than 700 watt seems the only option for you. because you will start riding with the e-bikers and 500 watt will not be enough without r.extender

700 hands down. The alloy doesn't matter as much as you think it does.

Big battery = more fun and far less range anxiety on longer rides.

Running a Norco with a 900 and an Orbea Wild with the 625+500 and I wouldn't have a smaller battery now, way longer exploring rides and way more down-runs!

Hey all, thank you! I found a 700wh carbon frame for the same price, so gets the best of two worlds haha. But I would’ve gone for the alloy had I not found it. I appreciate the advice!

I am also in the market for a Levo.

Any difference between the frame on the Expert, Pro, S-Works besides the paint job? Is the weight and carbon quality identical?

Does S-Works have a range extender input? i did not see it in the bike photos.

Carbon should be the same across the Expert, Pro, S-Works, the build on the bikes is where you will see the differences. There is no range extender for the models with the 700wh battery, only the 500wh are able to use the range extender.

Which ranger extender works for the 2022 500w battery?

only the SL bikes can use a range extender

That's what I have found. But that's not a 500w battery like Bronlio above specified. Just wanted make sure I wasn't missing something.
