does emtbtuned shocks have a difference to regular air shocks

i blew my shock and was looking on marketplace and found a perfect shock but it’s emtb tuned, i have no clue what that means but the guy said he put it on his regular bike and it made no difference does anyone know ?

Bikes usually come with the shock specially tuned for the suspension design of the bike. They make small internal adjustments to the shock to work the specific leverage curve of the mountain bike.

Depending on what bike the shock came from, it could feel good or could feel like shit on your own bike.

It COULD MAYBE have a bit more compression damping. It COULD MAYBE just be a sticker/marketing without any internal changes. If you weigh more than the target consumer, it could play in your favor. You could not notice it at all. Roll of the dice.
