Hey all, I want to get another camera. I used to use an old pentax slr (80's?) that was passed onto me and I took a couple photography courses, but never got "into it" so I'm not really looking for an SLR or even an SLR type camera, but i want something that will produce a bit better image quality than your regular ultracompact, also i want to stay digital after using one for traveling. So with another travel trip coming up on me I'm looking at a few cameras,
My priorities are Small (jacket pocket) options for manual shutter speed, focus, ect... decent images
your thoughts?
Panasonic Lumix LX2 (heard its noisy, but I can live with that) Canon PowerShot G9 (heard its good, but the lumix is sexier) Nikon COOLPIX P5100 (mixed reviews about its preformance, mostly in speed) Leica M8 (yeah right...)
so have I missed any contenders? Anyone had any good/bad experiences, or heard about the LX3 coming out within the next 2 months?
(randomly, I'm going back to Japan, so I can pretty much get whatever there I would imagine)
yah, I think I have been snooping around there once before, but i wasn't sure how trust worthy of a site it was (as I'd never really looked into photography review sites before) They seem to go pretty in depth so i should be able to narrow it down from there.(I was also snooping around cnet, which i deem somewhat non-trust worthy, i get a real cooperate, "buy it now" feel there)
