Anybody up for a trail build to make JP Cox a loop? This fall/winter maybe? It's something I've always wanted to do. How would you go about getting permission...or is it just better to ask for forgiveness?

That's why the best way to enjoy JP Cpx is to climb the summit trail, descend canyon creek, then climb back up from canyon creek and then on to cox. Then you get to embrace all the glorious suffering. I call it the Gord Olliver loop.
Close, but not the best... my preferred route -
up lusk, down summit, back up summit, down canyon, then back up canyon and complete the ride.

SPEAKING OF WHICH! Does anyone have the cajones to go try it tomorow without skins and skis?

A trail on the West side would cross the routes rising from the road up to the ridge. It would be much easier than building on the East side.

Minimal snow on the summit of Penuma this evening.

SS > Cheatin' varmits line up the reclaimed road to Penuma > Penuma > Packers > Ridgeback 1 & 2 > Tom Snow

Mostly tacky goodness, (bagged more up switchbacks than ever before) the usual puddles on all sections were in all their glory.

You Folks are Gods! I thought no pain-no gain, meant the push back up the mountain after a run, not actually riding up; LOL. Since I am poaching from afar, I am reading and learning. This brings up: 1) is it Pneuma or Penuma? & 2) How was Jean Guy named? (Did a guy have a wicked spill on it or something? Referring to "On The Rocks.") Thanks, Jon.

Ridgeback 1 & 2 are the two south legs. 3 & 4 are the two legs coming off Moose Packers.

My spelling is at best "random", the correct spelling is Pneuma. I am fully aware of this however my typing fingers insist that the "e" shall leap to the fore ahead of the poor hesitant "n".

No worries. As for others misspelling it though... I used the forum search function and it would appear I am the main offender. In fact, at one point I see that one of the main people behind the creation of the trail has quoted me and has been too polite to point out my gaff. Facepalm
