This time last year they were no where near as bad.

The trails are actually pretty decent for this time of year. In drier years they've been way more blown out. If you think this is bad, stick to trail riding.

Good to compare to the year where we didn't have historic levels of rainfall

So has the rain hurt or helped the trails?

Hurt in some places, helped in others. Terrain is always changing and obviously affected by weather conditions. There are berms that are holding up better than ever because of the moisture they're able to retain this year, and there are others that are breaking down because the mountain is leaching water. But overall, the rain has mostly helped. And it has given the trail crew opportunities to patch up some holes without having to truck water up the mountain, which hasn't always been possible in past seasons.

The XC trails are really sick at Highland and no braking bumps!

I need to try the XC trails. I normally take the view that if I'm making the drive over there I'm going to ride the lift/do some Wens/Thursduro laps.

You can hit up most within a relatively short period of time, they're banger. Next time at the end of the day riding the lifts, take Faux Pine to Doctors Orders.

Headed out to NH in second week of October, should I hit up Highland or is there a trail center that might be better within an hour and a half of Portsmouth?

Going up tomorrow for Veterans Day. Looking to hit flow in the morning, and tech after lunch. Heard there has been some work done and new trails since I last went up (early July). I want to hit some of the bigger features (tombstone, reef drop, slope style course) as long as they aren’t wet. Any info I could get? Thanks

Heavy rain every week of spring so far, my guess is sloppy.

Can anyone give an idea on how long the lift lines have been this year? its hard to know and driving from northern VT would be a bummer to have a bad bad line
