Hi everyone, i finally finish my bike (intense lookalike) i spend 1 day to make the rear end and 1 day making everything fit together , now im done a it work like the real thing , and i cant wait to take it to the mountain , one of my buddy who own a m3 say its pratically the same thing except for the frame weight , he say the entire bike if i use lightweight part it shoudl weight around 38 pound the frame alone is 15 to itself , tell me what colour shoold i paint it and if anyone consider this a worthy bike believe its solid,.and if 800$ for a intense lookalike with 8 inch of rear wheel travel would be worthy.

Exactly what grounds are you basing that on?

guys i build tons of rear triangle in my life and this is mig welding with 70 000psi tensile strenght flux wire believe it wont break ive made thinner design than this , i have 17 years in steel this is solid i try to collasp the triangle inward and if it doesnt flex it will hold , all i need now is to machine out a rear upper linkage.

I wasnt saying it would brake dude, i really like it, im a budding frame designer too, got the welding/machining down but just nowhere to experiment...

dude my best suggestion is start small get some scrap steel bike and try fiddling with it to make any idea you have in your mind bike science is not that hard when you work with steel , but when you make with aluminium and butted steel its something else , best of luck dude try it its fun.
cheers

did you design/build the front triangle?

Posted: Mar 24, 2008 at 19:24 Quote
no it had it custom drawn for me( angle and size) it didnt cost me tons of cash and i ask them of they can mass produce this ,

thats cool, mass production a good idea but feel theres more money in custom builds.. Im a steel freek myself.. Inspired by Brooklys builds
