Haven't we already established what makes a light bike?
Anyways, my apex is stock minus the brake so it should weigh just under 23lbs, I'm ordering fit faf tires and a 710 sl chain tommarow so that should take off about another pound. I might also get a shadow attack tl stem, that should save some weight over the stock generic stem.
Well, when I started riding, the average BMX bike was 35-40 pounds, 30 was light. I think my bike is pretty light at 28.5-29 (I just use a bathroom scale, it's not super accurate) with no pegs. I mean it's the lightest it's been since I've started riding, before the new frame and crank, it was 32.5 My old frame was 7 pounds, which was pretty decent back then. I have new forks on the way to replace my old forks, probably be 26.5 after once those are on, these forks are boat anchors, but it took 4-5 years of abuse to bend them.
In my experience, it's not weight that's the problem, it's where the weight is. Weight in a wheel set or a tire or fork is way more noticeable than say your seat/post or stem even.
