I have a medium 2006 V-10 and weighs 37.5 lbs when I race and a bit more with my non-race parts. If I had more money to sink into it I could prob get down to 36 lbs.

run a fox DHX 5 in the rear, much superior to the 5th element, Truvativ hollzfeller cranks are what I'm rollin with, they are pretty good. Mavic 721s would be my choice for rims.

How tall are you? I am 5'6" and the small seems a little too small.
