LOL, the D40X is the same thing as the D60, the D60 has a dust vent that the D40X doesn't have. The only difference between the D40 and D40X is image sensor, 6mp Vs 10mp and the D40X has a bit better continuous shooting mode, but that's about it. You can get a D40 fit with kit lens as little as $600 brand new out of the box, or get a D60 or D40X kit for around $750.

Remember the image sensor is the same on the D40X and D60, same thing, Nikon is just stupid and called the D60 a new camera because they added a dust vent.

Also consider Pentax K200D, Nikon D80, Rebel Xti.

IMHO if your gonna get a d80 or an xti, spend the extra 150 and get a canon 20d or a 40d

Big price difference from XTI/D80 body to Canon 40D and sadly the Canon 20d and 30d aren't made any more. XTI body $579, Nikon D80 body $729, Canon $1139.

So yes BIG jump in price. Nikon should be releasing information about the D80 replacement at Photokina this fall in Germany.

I know there is a lot of online stores as well as some local shops that still have some 20d and 40d's in stock.

I'm not sure why everyone is still trying to tell me which camera is the best. I bought my camera about 2 months ago.

Hmmm... I am a filmer and am starting to become very serious about it. I am filming for a series of webisodes and I want to get some advice on which camera to get, a Canon 60D or a 7D? I am stuck here as although the 7D is faster, stronger/heavier and better in some other ways, the 60D has manual audio, better LCD quality, you can swivel the LCD and the quality (I think) is the same. Help me!! Big Grin
