What I do with berms that turn into the hill like that is put diagonal grooves just before/after it on what ever flat/bench bit of trail leads to it/from it, to help with drainage minimising how much water gets to the berm in the 1st place.
Can also make a little gap into it and out of it, so the berm is kinda islolated and only the water that drains from directly above gets into the berm and not from the trail.

Looks really good by the way, lovely curve to it.

Depending on soil type and thickness it may still pool up, if there is a rock shelf underneath, it’s going to stay wet for a long time. What we do is bury a pipe, usually 100mm PVC, in the lowest point in the berm, then run it under the berm and down hill.

The more water flow (depends on how far down the hill you are, if you’re in a catchment area, steepness etc.) the bigger the pipe needed.

Thanks for the tips, it is much appreciated. Going to try to run a channel out the end of the berm and mellow shark fin out over the drain. A channel like some elevated dirt at the beginning and end of each side to direct water dh instead of into the berm? Do you have a pic by chance?

We've actually had regular digging schedule for years now, offseason Mondays at 5pm Cool In Nov/Dec/Jan that means its almost dark when you get home from work so there is not much else you can do but grab a light, few beers and go dig some stuff! If its colder we light a fire as well. Years ago there have been some crazy night sessions which made next day at work pretty hard, but now I kind of appreciate the curfew so we are forced to wrap up before 9 and keep everything civilized Big Grin
