Ellsworth Epiphany is top of the list from what I've seen, just not cheap. Look into the Giant Trance, great bike for the price.

sorry i just noticed this is in the xc section and ive never riden a bottle rocket i just heard good reviews

i know i shouldn't do this, but if you're looking to not spend a ton, i have a Brodie Loki for sale (frame only) that is 5" travel and pretty light. plus, it's the canadian version, so it has the specialized horst link that the american ones do not. I like it anyways, and it's pretty tough, too.
the new blur lt looks pretty sweet too.
my buddy played hockey for your fresno falcons the last couple years, dustin vanB, as a side note.
