from what really good wheel builders say its pretty damn strong but you gotta really watch your spokes and make sure they're tight.

It's not strong whatsoever. As soon as you bend steel, it loses most of it's strength. Bend up your TT and DT sometime and tell me it's stronger.

That being said, it does offer a more forgiving ride. My take; Avoid it like priests in playgrounds.
