bring this thread to life! I'm so pleased Spooky are on the move again!
I have a baby blue metalhead sat in my shed!
There are a couple of hairline fractures on the gussets so its been idle since I managed to get a Dr Jekyl off ebay.

Its by far the nicest ride i've ever had so would love some advice on what to do with it (i've been thinking of selling for a long time but I know I won't get its value).

Ive got one :-) , got similar cracks on the lower gusset welds.
I'm keeping as a kind of garage ornament now.
Despite owning many more jump frames since, I still rate the spooky's geometry as being the best of any of them. Great fun was also had in the workshop with the old skool disk mounting system!

Oh and I tried to sell mine a while back and all I got was ignorant tossers telling me that it was unrideable with the cracks, NO, NEVER!!! (Sarcasm)
I could not even fetch £30 for it! But now I recognise its value as a collectors item (I seem to have quite a few old skool frames now, just need a balfa MM and a 24 pornking I)
You could get it re-welded and heat treated, but I dunno about the costing of that.

Its almost nice to hear that someone else knows the feeling but its not because thats another spooky off the dirt!
I rode mine for a year with rigid forks and there was no change in the cracks. I don't know how long I'd been riding it before i noticed and that was with 5" 2001 z1 drop offs!

I think this frame would still live on. (but i dont want to try)

wheres that spooky insider gone? tell us what we can do! or make some more now your up and running you'd sell loads!

So, i've been thinking and I've decided to get my frame rewelded. A guy I know is taking a look at it, might be a case of taking the gusset plates right off then welding them back on again.

If all is successful i'm going to build it up again, not sure whether to stick with rigids or risk it with some 80mm forks.
Could anyone with discs on theirs please advise me on how you've fitted them? I'm not sure if i'll just stick to v-brakes on the rear.

Hope you're all still active on here. have you all been on Spookys website? looks like they aren't doing any jump frames since restarting the co.

Wuhoo!, right. Its been rewelded, i've had it bead blasted, powder coated and lacquered. so happy with the finish. I went out on it last night and now I remember why i've compared every bike I own to the Metalhead. Its deffinitely the best jump bike i've ever ridden!

Anyway, heres some pictures from before I built it.
More to come soon.

Disk adaptors is a tough one, I actually bought another metalhead off ebay just to get the brake mounts. still not managed to get anything to fit though. You'd ideally want top just get the old style c2 brakes fit straight on.

Add your spooky pics to your profile then you can get a 'pink bike picture number' from each pictures web address. You stick this number in the 'add pb pic' button (when your typing a post)

hope that makes sense!!
