Nicolai, GT, Diamondback, think Solid as well, to name a few have already produced bikes with gearboxs. Some with success others not so much.

SR Suntour make a gearbox, So does Universal transmissions, These are both readily available for frame makers.

Evil bikes made the Imperial 2013i with a gearbox and add Honda to your little list. (when they used the first generation gearbox)

Truvativ will soon release the 'hammer scmidt' which is a smaller gearbox to replace the front derallier.

Does anyone remember e-13's promise to make us a reliable, Cheap and strong gearbox called the "superbox"?

yes u are right, but honda has destroyed their bikes and there was an ordinary chain system in their carbonbox(thats why it was so loud)
the hammerschmidt will come after this season. its a kind of a new crank with 2 gears in a closed system(should fit on every frame), i´m anxious to test one and whats insideBig Grin

i remember a yellow hardtail from evil bike with a gearbox... never seen one live

Only the pre 2007 bikes were crushed.

There was a chain, deraillier, cassette and chainring in the 2nd Generation gearbox, The 1st Generation gearbox was an extremely complicated infinite geared gearbox which could be shifted whilst back pedaling, When you pedaled forward the chain would catch, Drive the wheel whilst loading a spring, Disengage and then reengage on pawls, This happened 44 times per wheel rotation but made no significant difference to how efficient the pedal stroke was. They scrapped that gearbox after 2004 because it was too high maintenance.

Allan Millyard and the Millyard bike seem to be promising with their gearbox design which can shift whilst fully still, When they get the money you will soon see them producing gearbox's and their famous rear shock.

yes i heard about the millyard bike. its an awesome construction. the gearbox is full integrated in the rear link and the chain is inside the chainstay. like a lefty-framelol

yes, the great gas - tank shock... its amazig how the kept the weight of this bike on 17,1 kilos.
