Just a pointer. Dont run pegs if you ride spenshions, youll just ruin the castings and risk serious damage to a nice expensive fork. Also dont even bother with pegs unless your bb is really high and on a 24" frame, otherwise there wont be enough clearance for your cranks

You can run pegs on a 3/8 axle but you will have to be a bit more gentle. Some MTB frames run 14mm axles, same as a BMX and pretty much have no issue. I have built frames with one thin dropout and one 1/4" 4150 dropout for a lighter bike with strength for the peg side. I ran a peg I had cut down but unfortunately no pictures of it.
