i used to run a stock mtn cassette with a 38t chainguide up front...i didn't ahve any issues once i got an e13, and from there until my derailleur got sucked into the wheel
now i run a 38:18, with hori dropouts and no tensioner
i'm thinking about switching to a harder gear. i ride a roughly 33 pound p2, on trails, street, and jumps, but a lot of just getting around town
I run 25 ,12. It's pretty solid. Works good for the trails. I wish I had a little more top end. Works good in the park even though I keep my pedaling to a minimum there. I was thinking of bumping to 12-26....
Since my bike is or will be a DJ style / Trials type bike (Dobermann Frame still debating if i want the MBF or not) I was wondering what would be the iedal ratio so that if i dont have a car i can ride the 20 - 30 min with ease or you know what i mean, and something that would work fine for DJ'ing and such. Any new opinions?
Why 94 9? Thats a Weird ratio... and 26-12 is more for trials its a very easy pedal setting or am i mistaken?
2:1 Or lower. The word trials gets thrown around a lot but, if you are going to attemp any kind of "trials" movements; you need a lower gearing. I would say try a 22/12. If it is too low, bump up to 24/12. Remember; numbers mean nothing, ratio is everything. A real trials gearing is 1.2:1 (18/15).
Yeah, well i was running ... i believe 25/15or 14 when i was in trials and i thought it was too easy, i have a lot of kick, i'm BIG and have big legs so u think maybe a higer or lower ratio would be good?
