Bit more progress on the 16" bike I'm making..

Got the disc adapter and slimline freewheel adapter finish machined. All seems to line up nicely so need to make the rear axle/bolts then look at getting the tubing for the frame Smile

I'm so looking forward to seeing this.

I'm studying Honours in Industrial design now and uni just got an autoclave and 5 axis mill. I have lots of plans and have been thinking about makin a single sided swingarm to go with it.

How far is re chain line from the rotor mount face of the hub?

bigquotesHow far is re chain line from the rotor mount face of the hub?

14mm from disc tab face to centre of chainline. Will need to dish the wheel slightly to get it on the cenrtreline of the frame but don't see any problems there.

Hey guys,
Im looking for Tig torch recommendations,
I have been using my factory torch that came with my welder but as its a Mine spec unit its very big and heavy and time has come to change over,

Can I go past a CK9?

I run a 9 and it is great. Just get some sweet furik cups if you want to spice it up.

I have a WC20 with a Toxic cup. I have a Furik on the way. I think watercooled is the way to go if you want a nice comfy torch.

Has anyone here tried using Durafix aluminum rods for welding / brazing.

any comments?

Think I want to get some to try to repair my old school F.T.W. Durango Yeti frame.

I have only ever seen it online.

Have to say I am skeptic in its strength, although I have never tried it

Quick question...

For those of you building frames from the GARA or ZONA tube from Ceeway in the UK, then using sheet/ plate for gussets /dropouts etc are you using mild steel sheet/ plate in these frames? I can't seem to find chromo sheet anywhere. Does the chromoly braze OK to the mild steel?

Thanks

Henry

Ive used this(atleast a very similar product) I wouldn't use it for anything you wanted strong, I used it for patching some aesthetic holes in some alloy fenders,

I certainly wouldn't be using it for a bike frame
