Hey so been wanting to build my own frame for years, posted on this forum years ago but at the time never really had the skillset to do it, however I'm now I've started to learn to tig a few months back and feel comfortable enough to give it a shot, also got access to a lathe etc now, so was looking for some advice on the best way to go about designing it, what fea software are people using and what calculations are you doing to determine tube thicknesses etc? Thinking of a 26/27.5 8" dh/Park frame using 4130

What loads would you be applying in your analysis?

This frame is on it's 3rd and final life as a commuter. Big silly gearing and some rattle can paint. Tubes are Nova Cycles with pretty standard CX geometry and an old 1-1/8" head set. Total relic.
