I agree with what everyone says. Go with the D7000 body and spend the extra on a decent lens. I agree with jonlake, the Tamron 17-50mm 2.8 would be a great choice. I'm personally a Canon shooter but the D7000 and T3i are in separate classes. I'm not sure how well the video feature has gotten on the Nikon systems but if you plan on shooting video a bit then maybe look into the T3i. Canon has always been at the top for video on the DSLRs.
I shall look for the lens (Compare, maybe other ideas for it?), and about the video: it looks that the D7000 does it great, but I will use it more for photos than videos.

Jamie you do realise the CEO of Nikon can't actually feel you gagging on him right.

If I wrote out a list of all those things showing my personal opinion then I'd take that comment, but the guy was looking at the D7000 and I just posted something to help him out from a reliable source. I think the more worrying issue is the amount of time you spend thinking about me putting things in my mouth.

Nice set up there plantx, I`m jealous! You interested in selling that 50d? Im thinking of buying a used one for now Smile

Since theres no biking going on around where I live, heres a couple recent shots I took at a local club. Rented a 50d for night.

Got a question everyone, Is spending an extra $500-700 for a weatherproof body worth it? Thinking about buying a sony A65 but i would like it to be water/dirt proof but the A77 is an extra good chunk of change, Also thinking about the 7D, anyone's input is appreciated!

I wouldnt bother with sony as you will always be annoyed that you cant get the lens or flash that you want cause of the limited options. Go for the 7d, it makes much more sense. And to answer your question im glad my camera has weather proofing, its a Samsung GX20.

weather proofing FTW (if you have a weather sealed lens as well).

After being UNDER a waterfall.
