I am light 130lbs (wont crack frames), and would like a top notch dh frame. I currently have a 06 vp free with dh parts so i would sell the frame and put my parts on it. I would by the things i need to make the parts fit like headsets, bottombracket, hub, seatpost. HOPEFULLY LIGHT.

Socom? M3, giant, ventana, santacruz, commencal, turner, iron Horse, SWD, canfield, brooklyn, etc, any others?

i came off an 07 sunday last season and loved it, but now im onto the 08 DHR. i would recomend a sunday, dhr, m6 or v10. all top notch

heavy as hell though, and the foes lack of standover height and general bulkyness makes it ride as bad as it looks...


swd are super sick frames, I rode one this year and maybe planning on selling it to buy the 2008 .216... They are pretty light at 8.7lbs. without shock and they're super duper nimble, tough as hell too. The frame comes with a lifetime warranty too! (lifetime replacement on the bearings too...)

you can't really go wrong for 1100$

Mate, good luck trying to get a Yeti 303, my buddy is getting the fame for 2.2 and fox 40's on it for 800 ('08 modles) but honestly, my shop had one of the 2 303's in all of canada last year (only 100 were made), aside from that a 303 frame goes for 3.5 and Up. The foes are amazing bikes id love to have one, but id go for a sunday (oh wait i am getting a sunday Razz )

The 2:1 is heavy. Frame, brake arm, shock and rear hub weighs 13.5lbs, so you would be looking at a modest 45lbs for a reasonable build. Talk to anyone at their shop and they will tell you that the 2:1 isn't designed for most US courses. It is made for fast, rough World Cup type courses, not tight steep and technical. Mitch and Brent both say they're designing a shorter travel (and lighter) DH frame (around 8") more suited for the tight and technical courses usually found in the states. That will be exciting to see.

Also, since you mentioned a Socom or M3, if you do choose Intense, the M3 is a bit heavier but smoother and much more forgiving, while the Socom is ligher and more nimble, but you will need to choose smoother lines to be faster.
