Fort William is easy enough to rent a bike at the trails, there's a hire shop at the bottom of the DH track and there are some good enduro trails within cycling distance.

Innerleithen and Glentress are great, they're about an hour south of Edinburgh if you have a car. Not sure about public transport though. The Sottish round of the EWS was held there and there are loads of good trails and a few different options for bike hire and you can also do uplift days there.

You can get a number 62 borders bus from the Edinburgh Bus Station and that'll drop you at Glentress or Innerleithen. If I remember correctly the bus is abourt £12 return.

Got tickets for Fort ‘Bill World Cup. Don’t really know the track so where is the best place to watch? Will that mental woods section be there this year?

Get the gondola to the top and walk down and when you find a good spot just watch from there, the mental woods section is now a huge rock garden

Fort Bill is open and ready to go already. Filmed yesterday (Feb 26th)

You may want to go faster, braver and with more talent but each to their own! Big Grin

There is an Edinburgh mtb meet-up group, join that and post up a ride, I'm sure someone will be up for it and at least you will know if anyone will be joining you in advance.

Looking for a forum or something where possible holidays could be sorted to bike parks around Europe. i dont have any friends that do downhill or bike park style stuff but group holidays usually end up cheaper. im Aberdeen based but that doesnt really matter. cheers.

There's a good "morzine les gets" forum, just search it in the forum bar at the top

Hi folks,

I'm headed to Edinburgh for a conference in June and have the 22nd set aside for some biking. I won't have a car, but could probably grab one if needed.

I browsed this thread a bit to see what advice had already been given. https://www.progressionbikesscotland.com looks awesome, but is about an hour away. Are there any similar shops/services that run out of Edinburgh itself?

Preferred biking would just be something that gives the Scottish experience - whatever that may be. If I thought I could make Ft Bill, I'd happily ride an iconic park, but I can otherwise ride enough park while at home.

Thanks all! Looking forward to visiting!

Hey mate!

I have just passed my Level 2 MTB guiding qualification and have, this weekend, gone through the 3 day training for level 3 (the highest possible in the UK).

Im looking to take people out to sharpen my craft etc so this sounds like a good opportunity for both of us. Drop me an email at stuartrossmeldrum@gmail.com and we can chat about it. No pressure, always good to get out with a fellow rider either way!

P.S. I know good options for bike rental.
