Hi dude, in terms of speeding up the recovery time and the quality of the recovered tissue, hit up a physiotherapist! They'll be able to get you in much better running shape and can give you tips on how to make it heal faster and make it less prone to breaking again.

Haha, I broke mine Saturday as well. I'm hearing 4 weeks and you are basically normal but with no strength, 8 and your good to go. Lots of factors though... like for me the only time the ends want to line up is when I'm lying down. Otherwise its all tented out and gnarly looking.

I asked this question when I got home:

Good luck.

I have the same problem. I can feel the bones line up in certain positions especially lying down but they are moving around all day. I am wearing a brace that is shaped like a figure 8 that helps a little but I keep thinking to myself how is this thing going to heal strait and strong if my bones move around all the time?
My bad for starting a new post i looked and could not find anything but picutures.

They're coming out of the woodwork now. Wink rough weekend. Try google, there are some good articles, a couple that really walk through the whole process. It sounded to me like the first healing should start happening around 7-14 days and normally at night when its not moving around. I'm kinda hoping it starts healing straight (ish) one night and then I'll just be real careful to let it get solid for a few days so it doesn't get stuck all crooked...

I broke mine first day of the school holidays a while back, haha not the best way to start 'em. Mine took about 4 weeks to get proper, no pain movement, but seeing as I wanted to ride so much, I was doing easy street rides 2 weeks after it, any sudden movement hurt so much though. 8 weeks and I was doing serious downhill riding again.

collar bones are always fun to break, it took me 3 weeks (then i was ridin on the street/wheelying*one handed*)another week or 2 and i was back to normal. broke mine 3 times, same side to, the thing just doesn't hold up anymore lol, i think its one of those things u just wont brake once, rugby played hell on it to though.

Broke mine almost five weeks ago now. Broke in two places with a little floater inbetween the two larger pieces. I'm going to see if I can get the x-rays from the specialist when I go in for follow up this week. I ended up not getting surgery which is nice. I got a really good specialist and she said no sling in two weeks fully functional day to day in six cleared for sports and contact at eight weeks.

I broke my collarbone 3 months ago and it still hasn't healed fully yet! i gotta go for another x-ray in 2 weeks ill try and the scan of it, but yeah i know what you guys mean when you feel it move!People say the bones reconnect when they heal but alot of people i've heard of all have messed up collarbones now. Mine overlaps itself, anyone else feel a pop sometimes when you lift your arm up over your head?
