hey i have a 2006 kona dawg, its been working out great, i love it, but i want to get into freeriding and dont have a huge bank to spend, and i want to keep the dawg so selling it is out of the question. i only have around 1500 to spend so i was thinking of buying used, thats one reason why im on pink bike, just wondering what you think a good, reliable bike that will get that will get the job done without blowing the bank, thanks for your input
thanks everyone, ill take all sugestions into conciteration, does anyone have a good bike that they have 4 sale, if so shoot me a letter on pinkbike or an email
yo dude if you can get your hands on a used norco shore 2 or 3 it would be the perfect freeride bike. you could probably get a good used shore 3 for 15-1600. what ever u do though dont buy a kona stinky, i split the frame. and the bighit is a little on the heavy side for freeride.
1600 is a little to much, 1500 is like the max i can pay, if i had more i would deff get a better bike, and also around me is some good freeride and downhill, but i neeed to be able to bike in to a lot of the spots so im looking for a big single crown like a 66 or a float 36, and i would prefer a coil rear shock, but if it has a fox dhx 5.0 air shock, that would be cool to, let me know thanks a lot
If you go with a stinky, make sure the dropoff triple isnt on that mofo, if you do anything big at all, youll kill yourself. Those forks are death on a stick.
yo dude im pretty sure that if you look around hard enough you will find a shore 2 or 3 for 1500 but if u think u can get 66 or float 36 for 1500 and under then yer dreamin dude
oh ya and it also depends on what year u want cuz if u go with an older model u can get a shore 1 fer 1500 or less and that is a smokin bike. my buddy has one and its been working out great for him and he dose the same things as me and i have a stinky.

my stinky suks. i was riding at c.o.p and i was hitting most of the big lines and i snapped the back linkage. but if you keep the drops below 10 feet then it is an ok bike.
It depends on how good you are, if you think are good, move to a full sus for freeriding, if not get a hardtail then buy a full sus later, will be so benefitial in the future to u because i will teach you to ride well later on.
But then if u really want a full sus get this http://www.rscycle.com/s.nl, reason for that because its a very good beginners freeride bike and you can upgrade it to make it an ultimate freeride rig. Also its brandnew so u can't go wrong can u? Im about to buy 1 of thoughs frames myself cause there so good.
