White light does something to old people. It is too bright or something and can impair their vision.

they are orange for less glare in the atmosphere,would also impare a telescopes clarity.

white is reflected differentley,not totally sure how.

i think the orange bulbs are also cheaper to use as in lower electricity costs.

White is horrible.. there is an estate nearby where they switched to bright halogen lights..
Its not nice on the eyes at all. Like living in a fridge..
