When I first started riding I would use either foot and it felt fine, but after I used my left more it started feeling better then the right, so I stuck to that.

Thats exactly what happend to me it just feels more natural
this is called Footedness and is that same as snow/skateboarding- Regular and Goffy. If you have the left forward it is of a Natural/Regular stance, and right is Goffy. This in most cases will translate the same stance in your bike riding as your board riding. However it may not as i am regular snowboarder and goffy mtber???? This is apart of the laterality phenomenon which is why you are either left or right handed.... yes i agree this post is f#ckin gay, however i'm trying my hardest to have a w/e off the beers....
ps. If you were wondering why its called goffy and regular- its term that originated out of early surfing culture, as it started it was a small group of guys all riding regular, as the sport grew naturally some people started showing up riding the opposite and to take the piss out of them they were labeled goffy. maybe one beer
