How to take a chian apart then put it back together

hey im taking my front derailer off and to do that i need to take my chain apart.
i know how to take the chain apart but i dont know how to put it back together.do i need a new link or can i just put it back together with the orignal link???(and how do i do this)

You wont need a new link. Just push the pin out with a chain tool so that it's out enough to take the chain apart, but still on the outside plate. When you're ready to put the chain back together, line the chain up and push the pin all the way in.

you use a chain breaker to push the pin back in as it will be to hard to push with your fingers.
