i searched and couldn't find it. does anyone know if the lockjaw post will fit the federal slim seat? i think it will as they are both pivotal, but want to make sure before i order.

Thats a bad ass combo, im looking to go pivital but my seat post is 31.9mm, although I can always shim a 27.2mm lockjaw

Where are you buying this stuff might I ask? ordering it? in the US?

If im not mistaken that seatpost has the same design as cenecas and one of macneils pivotal posts, if that is the case it is a bit bigger on the upper part of the post making it impossible to slam. By the looks of the picture it is a post of that kind, so you will have to grind it down by using something like this Unsecure image, only https images allowed: http://www.buildyourguitar.com/resources/lapsteel/lapsteel1_1.jpg. You can totally disregard this post if you are not wanting a slammed seat post Razz . Just wanted to point that out, might be helpful.

Happened to take a look on his profile, and he has a suburban. The NS suburban has 27,2 seatpost diameter, i am a 100% sure on this because it is the -07 model and my friend has one.

well shit unfknblvbl... you should just get a 25.4 seatpost and shim it to 27.2 (that would save you weight anyway

then you have WAY more choices, and you could get a post you can slam (for cheaper) from dans comp

if I had your frame, here is what I would get, all of which is from dans comp and I can give you a code for free shipping on orders over 30 bucks (save 9.99) OR I can give you a code for $15 off orders of 60 or more. (which is even better than free shipping)

9.0oz and 27.99 (i would get the ryan sher seat... I ride a penumbra right now, and they are the shit)

2.2oz and $22.99

shims from 25.4 to 27.2 - 9.99
Unsecure image, only https images allowed: http://www.danscomp.com/images/products/mid_472006.gif
= $60.97
$9.99 shipping
=$70.96
THEN THE CODE for 15 bucks off

55.96 GRAND TOTAL (not bad)

sweet man. didn't realize the shims were that easy to get. you know how long those posts are? i wanns put it at like 2" above seat stay. also im lookin for an all black seat, and i think the federal is a little lighter. by the way, its an 08 not an 07, but yes it is 27.2 and chainreaction doesn't have the lockjaw in that size anyway.

this was my Pivotal setup

Macneil SL on DMR Lockjaw seapost with USE alloy shim

the DMR lockjaw is a first generation pivotal post, and the forging of the post includes a thicker section at the top to reinforce the post against failure when running it on a MTB

MTB's run much longer posts than BMX's (my bmx has a Pivotal stump post which is straight gauge so it can be slammed) - on a BMX the seat is only really stopping you getting impaled on the seatube!

Alien Nation and Macneil are both now doing MTB diameter pivotal posts, which don't have the thicker section at the top, but have moved the reinforcement inside the post by having a thicker wall thickness to increase strength for MTB riders

you should be able to get a Macneil or Alien Nation post to suit your MTB, unless you have a weird seatpost diameter in which case you can go for a 26.8mm or 27.2mm seatpost and run the suitable shim to match your frame Wink
