I have found xt cranks the best for the buck
I would go for straightline pedals and i9 hubs the rest will be a balance between how hard you ride and how light you want your bike

Saint or XT cranks

Industry Nine/823 or Pro 2 Trials/Sapim/721 wheelset.

Custom 6 speed road cassette.

2006 or 2007 66 SL1 ATA, Fox 36 Float, or some kind of Totem.

Cane Creek Double Barrel shock with a titanium spring.

Best start shovelling snow now, that'll take you a while. When you've got those parts, time to move onto the frame.

deemaxx if you want to be bombproof

my raceface evolve dh cranks are pretty bombproof too

Id say raceface atlas freeride or shimano slx me and my friend have been 360 ing and tailwhiping (loads of fails) on both for a while and thye are solid and light as hell, also the new range of sun mtx rims seem to be lighter and stronger than ever (31 mill being a good all round, 33 being awsome for heavy freeride and dh, 29 street and park or xc/trail)
