as title says searched but i havent really got a clear answer i want to run brakes but dont want to spoile my rims is there any pads or methods of not rubbing the paint off? cheers
I have heard of people layering the contact are of the rim with a coat of clear nail varnish. But I do not know how well this works. Considering how hard wearing the stuff is, it could work, but your braking power could weaken.
I say try it, if it doesn't work, nail varnish remover will get it off. But if your rim isn't well painted, it'll get more than the varnish off..
what makes a freestyle Bmx a Bmx? BMX stands for bicycle motocross . So if you want to be specific about it unless the bike is used for racing its not a BMX...
Clear pads won't leave a mark on your rim. They still will eventually rub the paint off the sidewalls but you'll have a cleaner looking rim for longer with clear pads than you would with black pads. With your red rims and clear pads you'd eventually get the paint worn off but the sidewalls would just be silver with possibly some areas of red. Now if you had black pads on the red rims you'd get black streaks before the paint rubs off and eventually you'd have black streaks and spots of silver and red.
