be waaaaaaaay hardrer. keep in mind that the mxers have a throttle to help tuck the bike in, and using their brakes and throttle in the gets a LOt of the pitch in, they jsut have to worry about lateral angle, and then not even tucking it in.
vanderham comes the closest, i think. no-one can touch that whip of his in ROAM Morocco. i watch that clip over and over again, just that one hit
if anyone, vanderham could do it, he has the best whips in mtb
It looks so sick, i wish i could whip like that, however, that has to be what, a 70 foot gap? when mountain bikes average at about 20. Theres WAY more airtime off that jump than any mtb due to the fact that its like 12 feet high and their going pretty fast into it. It can be done, but it has to be fast so it basically end up being, an, un-turndown?
I don't think it'd be possible, it'd be harder to get the bike back around, the pro would be better off finishing the rotation as a 360. You also need a lot of air.
i imagine the gyroscopic momentum from a spinning back wheel helps the rider move the bbike around alot more than we mtbrs can apreciate due to the speed/weight. next time you take a wheel off your bike, hold it by the axel, spin it as fast as you can, then try and turn it.
I think a big factor is the weight of the motorcycle versus a bike. A lot of things that MX can do that bikes can't has to do with the amount of mass you're flying through the air with. It's a different beast...
