I agree somewhat with deeznuts. Buy something on the lower end. I recently bought the lowest end Rocky Mountain Flatline. By doing something like this you maintain whats really important in a full sus bike, the upgrade potential, and the suspension design. This way you get a bike that rides great and can bemade into a 7000 dollar beast if you end up wnating to. Also, just a hint, it is really easy to find great partsand upgradesforcheap if you put in a little effort. If you look carefully, you can buildupa top of the line bike from scratch for 500 to 1000 less than buying full stock.

Oh yeah, if you buy a XS or Small lowest end flatline you'll get a short bike perfect for freeride, SS, and DJing with the long travel perfect for downhill all in a 38.5-29 lbs package.

Look into getting a specialised sx trail with some Totems or maz 66s! Thats a bike that can do literraly everything from doing light trails to big hucks and fairly substantial downhill. If you get an old model like 06 or 07 u could easily build it up without having to shell out a bomb for a brand new frame that will work just as well as a tried and proven bike such as the SX! if you are serious about getting a do it all bike you should def. check out specialised!!!

Because you're not biased or anything.Rolleyes You should also learn to spell "Specialized" correctly seeing as you own one.

he has a good point though. the SX is a bike between the models fuzzywuzzy listed and an 8 inch bike. not a bad choice. nor is the big hit. but if i were you i would just go with something like a small flatline or something. maybe a blindside.

Yes that is correct I am biased, but the fact still reamians that it is a fantasitc bike and shouldnt be overlooked just beacause I own one and have an opinion about what I believe to be a good bike. I also got the impression this guy was asking for peoples opinion so why dont you just back the f()ck off?

What you wrote didn't help at all. You wrote it can do "literraly" everything, when in-fact it does not do full-on DH as well as a bike such as a Mini DH with more DH geometry (yes I have ridden both bikes).

This is great guys, really appreciate the help. it will be tough for me to get a Specialized bike in my area. the boss isnt really that helpful or friendly and i heard numerous cases whereby he does not help people in claiming warranty. so i did better of stay away from specialized. recently i just tried my friend's bottlerocket, it was really plush but the weight IMO is kinda heavy for me. Another thing, my friend claim that the Morewood Mbuzi has a spot on geometry, which is very good, any idea about that?

Btw, can anyone tell me what can i do with a yeti 4x? possible to do jumps? and light dh/freeride? because my friend said that my weight isnt an issue thus i can use shorter travel bikes....

^^Check out todays pod the bike hes riding has similar geometry to ur yeti 4x.
If uve got a few bucks, id recommend getting a stronger rear shock and ud be set for some very nice dirt jumping!
