I've since tightened the chain by wrapping the cogs in a slice of xc tube to make the circumfrence of the cogs larger - thus tightening the chain.

^^^^^what fork are you running? Combined with my short fork and the extra long xtr crankarms, it leads to some nastiness. I'm debating about going for a longer rigid or a fox f100... but something needs to be done about my short front end.

yeah a 2.0 - about right on the average for ss mtb's. I have a ratio of 2.6 Can't imagine going lower for the terrain around here. Big Grin

thats a surly instigator fork

i'm running 32:16 now, 38/16 just wasn't kind enough on the hills and i didn't have any other rings lying around. works well enough.

Terri was that frame always yours? I seem to remember someone else on here owning it (or one similar)...

Always mine - As far as I'm aware I have the only one in Canada - actually I only know of one other person in the world owning one. Obviously other people have them somewhere. There is a Viper Skinny Boy on PB though.

I want a Chameleon with a F100, Stylos and Juicy Ultimates. That would be awesome.
