Sounds like you need to get yourself along to this to meet other like minded bikers! Cool

This is a hell of a punt, but I don't know if any Aberdeen/Stoney loons know anything about the current state of Fetteresso forest and its once decent network of mini DH runs and single track. It was my old stomping ground from '96-2010 ish, but I now live in the NW of England.. is there still worthwhile riding to be had in the forests or has everything I might have known from that time now been flattened or removed due to forestry work? I know the NS stuff was removed long before I left but the natural trails I knew of were still intact. I'm heading up in April with my bike to do some riding - some of which for sentimental reasons- but want to know if its worth taking a spin up there in 2017. Will be riding a fairly squishy freeride bike but it has always been the case...

Anyone know the status of Durris at the moment? Worth a trip or better elsewhere?

Getting a bit bored of Blacktop and Kirkhill!

Muddy dubby slippy slidey……which is a bummer as 2-3 weeks ago the trails were all riding beautifully after the long dry spell we had.

Haha, well I guess that will be the case for most places after all that rain last week. I don't mind a bit of mud tbh Smile

We've actually decided to go to Scolty instead.

EDIT: Does anyone have a Strava route for the trail with the rock drop thing?

This...

Evening all,

Highly unlikely, but I don't suppose anyone in Aberdeenshire has a medium YT Jeffsy 29er I can check for sizing?

Thanks in advance.

Graeme

It's this one (which I think is called 'Scolty Doonhill from gate' on Strava ...https://www.trailforks.com/trails/scolty-dh-double-track/

Cheers!

We found the slab and an bunch of other fun stuff, but not the rock drop sadly. Had a blast so will be going back soon enough and hopefully find it next time.

Pretty sure that's the one on "double Scolty DH track" I think it's called on trailforks. Basically do the top DH section from the tower then go right, just after the gate. It's one of the first features you come to with a chicken line down to the right of it. Hope that helps

So couldn't help but notice that Inverness, Edinburgh and Glasgow now all have high quality pumptracks... and Aberdeen doesn't! At one point I talked to someone in the council about the possibility for one at where the old cults skatepark was but that hasn't been followed up. Also heard at one moint that RGU students where making designs for one but again not sure. So just wondering whether anyone has had similar thoughts or knows anything? Would be sick to get a decent one put in!
