Primer gray would look cool, I think, but the wheel would look out of place (front).

I had purple/gold shift and the flip was very clear and that using the stuff from a spray can. Real stuff would work just fine.

Flip paint is pretty sick too, but if it's a "working man's" BMX, it's going to get trashed, and it easier to spray a little primer over the dings than redo a flake or flip paintjob...

I'm pretty sure you can get satin finish varnish... which is matte.
