If that's your bike in your profile than it's an 07' not 06'. In 07 they had three levels, as you went up the spec changed for a lighter dh set up. Wilson 3, Deemax, Boxxer WC, DHX 5 Air. Wilson 1, Devinci Wheelset, 888RV, DHX 3.0 coil.

whoops my mistake sorry wasnt thinking right yes i am riding the 2007 and no there is no difference in the frames just the parts spec for 2007 and 2008

You mean 06, 07 right. Massive frame diff between 07 and 08.

yea i know the frames are diff i just mean in the line up all the frmes are the same just the parts spec are different on each year

I am, the frame anyways. The whole bike itself going to be close to $7000 too rich for me. It should be in any day. Little over excited and don't like the name anymore, but meh

No worries on that, I'll be like a proud father and most likely post it a million times until someone tells me they are sick of it.

Here's the Wilson's history...

2006 : Starts using Fox DHX air shocks. Shares DH frame/geometry with 8Flat8. Fox DH40, Fox DHX 5.0 air. Color: Green
2007: Available in 3 differently spec'ed models Wilson 1,2,3 all share same frame/geometry. Wilson 3: Boxxer WC, Fox DHX 5.0 air. Color: 1:Yellow 2:Red 3:White & Red
2008: Completely redesigned frame 1.3 lbs lighter, ajustable geometry FR or DH, 9'' travel, shorter length, lower standover height. Available in 4 differently spec'ed models Wilson 1,2,3,4 all share same frame/geometry. Wilson 4: Boxxer WC, Fox DHX 5.0 air. Color: 1:Charcoal 2:Blue 3:Orange 4:White

I checked out their site. It is a nice bike. I am not totally sold on the FOX rear shock. Have read a lot of reviews on teh reliablility when comparing to a coil.

Any benefits to adjustable geometry??

I have the 06 Wilson. Bloody amazing bike. The DHX 5.0 Air is unreal, never had a problem with it. The bike stays grounded on the bumpy stuff but can also jump really well. Amazing for DH and freeride. Highly recommend it!

It's really only the 08' that is adjustable. On the 04-07 you can alter the lower pivot near the axle so that when running 24's you keep the same bottem bracket height, and head tube angle.

Sorry this copied weird but the 08' you can move two positions to change several variables (https://www.pinkbike.com/news/devinci-wilson-3-2008-review.html). They are as follows.

Geometry Specs:

Dropout Position, Front Shock Position, Chain Stay, BB Height, Head Angle, Travel, Wheel Base
DH Front 17.3 13.9 64 8.6 45.9
FR Front 16.8 14.4 65 8.8 45.4
DH Rear 17.0 14.8 65.7 9 45.6
FR Rear 16.5 15.4 66.8 9.1 45.0

The benefits are that the bike can handle differant situations. You can move from stability to maneuverability or even inbetween.

Cool thx for the info.

I jsut wonder the reliability/strength of the frame. Would having these adjustments weaken the integrity of the frame.

Not really as long as everything is properly tightened there shouldn't be a problem. I heard the early batch of 08's had an issue with the chainstays hopefully they've changed this for production. I've never had any issues with the bolts for the 24/26 set up and the new 08's have two bolts holding the front shock to the frame. The 04-07 front shock bolt mounts can ovalize but that was the only weakness.
