Hi
How on earth do i remove the crank on a hollow bottom bracket? I want to replace the granny ring with a bashguard but I can't seem to find the tool to remove the crank...

I used an allen key to get the bolt out, but the crank wouldn't come off.

And they're raceface cranks, not sure what exact model, i could go and look though.

i think you need the old style crank removal tool.

IF THEY ARE X-TYPE THEN DO NOT ONE OF THOSE, and considering they are hollow then they are x-type

all you need is an 8mm allen key

right just looked at the pic on your profile looks like you'll need an 8mm, and an isis crank remover, or you can whack it with a soft hammer to get it off

Right, i'll try that again tomorrow then, i did get the allen bolt out earlier and considered giving it a whack with a wooden mallet but didn't think it would be such a good idea, but i'll give it a go.

just leave the self extracting bolt cap on (the 10mm one),
then unscrew the crank bolt (the 8mm one).
