yeah, another company said that you wouldn't get a crisp line between the colours so it would look bad. They said they could do it with wet paint though. If I was to get the hole frame powder coated one colour they said £80 and then wet paint in the way I want it then £120. So I just have to decide what I want to do now.
hmm wonder if its cause ya cant send PC thru the oven twice ? do one color, tape off, spray other color send thru oven second time ????? but ive seen/read about people doing it paint/PC.. would rather have PC myself...

Dunno, are stock frames powder coated or wet painted? Because the scheme I want is the same as Sam Hill's Demo where is red on the bottom then white on the top but I want blue where the white is.
not sure if frames are painted or PC'd... heres a little about how to do two-tone... its labor intensive i think thats why they dont want to do it or its to expensive...

two tone can achully be done really easy , you might not of hear about speckles flakes people call them diffrent things(proper work is paint flakes)anyway you can get these in two tone and basicly you put them in your laquer and the correct work is flip paint but it only works on 2k paints and it involves a lot of money as for 1 litre of primer , basecoat laquer harderner you will be looking around 70quid now you have to but your flakes and i think these are about 15 quid for 50g now these would do a lot more than you would think. anyway if you want to know everything you can pm and ill do a walkthrough.
if i was you i wouldnt sand blast i am a paint sprayer by trade and the company i work for sand blasts and i have learnt through doing it sand blasting eats alluminim and rushes early cracking of weld so if i was u use a orbital sander it pay take longer but in the long run . also you dont need to completly raw a frame to spray in just smooth it down with some p1000 wet n dry . also dont use paint stripper as it makes a lot of mess and can ruin your nice finish as you havent washed it of propely
thanks for the reply. I thought it was strange when they said thy couldn't do it. Ive emailed a couple more companies asking for a quote. Hopefully I get more luck outta them. Might send the first company that link just to prove them wrong
i would do it just ride up on the bike and go its nice that isnt it shame you couldn be arsed to do it

haha yeah. Pitty 2 places said they can't do a two tone powder coat and I don't know many other companys, I've just found a couple from google which are local. Would the flakes you mention be able to get the finish shown in the photo shop I did. http://twitpic.com/16eeo2

hi mate thats not two tone that could easy be done id atake it back to the powdercoaters as youve asked for the wrong thing , what you ment by two tone is a bike what starts of one couler and fades into another , that is just purely 2 diffrent coulers and decent paint sprayer could do that with masking tape. thats al id do strip in to frame and spray it all white then mask the white up to how much u want then spray the rest in blue , when doing so you dont want to layer it as you will get uneven paint work , just lacquer it a lot and you will be right . also i am doing one at the moment its a dj frame thats octagonal and iv masked the edged of the conreners in fine line masking tape its like the effect you want only more accurate and it is looking the part all ready will post pics when its done .
I didn't ask for two tone, I just sent that pic along with one of my bike now and the first company said it wasn't possible with powder coating and they called it two tone. Anyways I got a reply from another company today and they said they can do the powder coating like I asked and i just have to take the bike up for a quote
