[PI=3117254 size=m align=c]i got me a 09 v-10.
after a couple a weeks of just riding it EVERYWHERE i found it jumps just great.
but you gotta put the time in.
its like any other bike, lil or big, you just got to ride it.
i found out some interesting things about the v10 while comparing it to other DH bikes.
first off, it as a smaller cockpit than you'd think.
secondly, its just stupid light.
and third, its got a reeeealy low bottom bracket, even before sag, after sag, its super low.
these are things i was happy to learn, cause i rip one bike most of the time, and its my v10.
if i am at the dj's i am on a hard tail, but for freeriding, the v10 is just fine.
its super easy to throw around, but its no bottlerocket or shore.
its uper easy to jump, but you gotta go faster and work it harder, and learn or just get used to pre loading more.
and it rails corners and trails, but you dont have clearance for sticky stunts.
every bike is a compromise, but the v 10 is a good fun and lively bike.
and i used to ride a bottle rocket a lot.
sure i miss it sometimes, and will probs hook up a sixer soon, but the v10 is just a rad machine.
the pedaling on the v 10 is a bit of a surprise as well, cause it really will go uphill, despite what people think.'
the VPP works pretty good when you are riding FUN trails....
just my thoughts after a couple months.....werd

I upgraded to a V-10 from an SX trail. The sx was great for freeriding and jumping. And at first the v-10 was a little weird. But they are completely different machines. IT just takes a while to learn to ride a new bike. But the v-10 jumps fine. Takes drops fine. It gives you too much confidence for jumps and the like. It actually feels a little more hoppy than my sx, but that could just be the travel. Its not quite as flickable as the sx of course, but for a dh bike, you'd be surprised. and yes, it pedals amazingly, even uphills. just watch pedalling through turns and through rock gardens unless you want to be buying new pedals all the time.

From my experience, the VPP feels rather dead (not becaue of teh 10" of travel, otehr VPP bikes feel this way too) when jumping. But that's compared to the much more lively single pivots that I usually ride.

O+

if you tune it right it can actually be quite alive.
i am digging it, but have now gotten a short travel FR bike, that is single pivot, and its soooo nice.
still, the v10, in its newest form, jumps just fine. no dead spot, and alot of plush for the big hucks.
the v10 is not a jump bike, so i would say it "Freerides" great.
