Hi folks!
First, pinkbike is great!
I'm kinda new to jumps, and everytime when i ride my local trail one jump is annoying me, because most of the time i hit it i bottom my fork. The jump is only about 13-14 feet wide. I ride a Kona Stinky 2005 with the standard fork, i know this oem forks are shitty, will get replaced in summer with a fox rc40. it is set up for 70 kg. Here are some pictures of me that show me before landing or landing. I think i make some mistakes, and i hope you can help me out.
Thanks everybody for a response and i hope i can jump right as soon as possible!
And sorry for my bad english Smile .

I dont see anything wrong? Your forks are supposed to bottom out.

Sorry, how you mean this?
Thanks.

Well on jumps your supposed to use most of your travel, If you find the fork is diving too much then change your air pressure or spring weight. If your fork has high speed compression you could also add more of it.

i dunno what's wrong wth your forks and if you just started jumping and the jump is 13-14feet in length that's weir dlol.
but anyway if you think your drop offs are too plush and bottom out too much get hold of a shock pmup and take the top caps othem off and pmup some air in them, try and get it equal one each side. do it till you are satisfied with the stiffnes, don't ptu them too stiff though Beer
the fork is air preload and just air

Ahhh i get it. i will change the pressure up to about 75kg and hope this will help me out. Unfortenatly i got no high speed compression. Does a "bottom out" damage the fork? Thanks!

This season i want to go big!

It depends on how hard but generally no.. The only time it would harm it would be a fairly big drop to flat or something along those lines.

when you are sitting on the bike normally, and you push down on the fork it shouldn't bottom out, only on the big stuff or whatever to use the travel

Bottom up? And i take it your talking about the fox 40? That has so many adjustments you can set it exactly as you like, although it is a very high maintenance fork from what i've heard about it.

It might rake it out a bit but i dont see any reason for it not to fit.. Is the 05 the one like the coiler?
